Women often approach me with the question of how I’ve been able to enjoy so much success in my professional life as a children’s author and researcher as well as in my personal life as a mother and wife. I attribute my enriched life to my personal goal setting, a fundamental activity which is the basis of everything I do.
Goal setting is the bridge between your vision of your ideal future and actually living your ideal future. When you set goals right, you are actually taking the first step in turning your vision into a reality, motivating you and allowing you to take the practical steps in your life necessary to achieve your dreams. Goal setting techniques are used by top-level athletes, successful businessmen, and high achievers in all fields, giving them short-term motivation and long-term vision. With goal setting, your dreams are attainable.

I love these motivating articles and posts from you. I hope to see more on this topic in the future!
I really appreciate the other post to on writing your goals down. I would like to add that you should post them somewhere around your house where you can see them every day, like on the fridge or near your bathroom mirror. Keeps you focused!
Thanks for this post. I am a sixth grade teacher and I teach kids the importance of setting goals, and I really think it makes a difference. They’re always smiling after I get them to write down their goals!
This was a neat one to read, very motivating. I have been writing down my goals for years, and I find that the older I get the more I need to because I tend to get distracted by everything going on in life. Be true to your dreams!
Thanks Tina this is really good to know. You are really an inspiration as an author and with all the work you do on behalf of children’s literacy and allergic communities. If you attribute your success to goal setting, I’ll definitely be setting some goals myself! XOXOXO Chelsea H
Thanks Tina for this information. It was interesting to hear that top athletes use goal setting techniques but it really makes sense.
This is something I’m going to be doing right away! The first step in doing anything is visualizing yourself doing it, isn’t that right? That’s why I thinking making goals is so important.
Right! Keep me posted. Tina
I always love your pieces on setting goals–thanks:)
